SutraBook and Busy

Good stock records in the office. Now put them on the floor.

Busy has always been stronger than Tally on inventory, and its buyers already care about stock. This page is about the parts of stock that live outside the office.

What Busy is genuinely good at

Stated first, because it is true — and because you already know it.

Inventory-aware accounting

Batch-wise and parameter-wise stock, multiple godowns, item-wise pricing — first class, and ahead of us on batches.

Cheaper entry than Tally

Subscriptions from roughly ₹5,000/year single-user.

GST returns in the box

Including e-invoice and e-way bill generation on higher plans — ours are still on the roadmap.

Where a factory outgrows it

Same shape as Tally where it matters

A desktop program in the office, worked by an operator. The gate, the floor and the travelling owner are not its users.

Production is a voucher, not a floor

BOM vouchers exist; stages, machines, scrap reasons, quality holds and job-worker clocks do not.

No people, in the factory sense

Attendance at the gate, advances against wages, a worker seeing their own payslip — not what it is for.

Sentences owners actually say

“Busy is the operator’s program — I see printouts.”

“Batches are in Busy, but the rejection register is a notebook.”

What switching honestly costs

Easier than from Tally — Busy exports clean Excel. Balances and masters come through the import wizard; history stays in Busy for reference.

What Busy has that we don’t — yet

  • Offline, as with Tally — Busy runs through a power cut; we only hold a dead spot.
  • Batch-wise stock — Busy has it today; ours is on the roadmap. A pharma or food unit that lives on batch expiry should not buy us yet, and we would rather say so.
  • E-invoice / e-way generation.

Busy was built for many kinds of business. SutraBook was built for yours.

Built for factories, with India’s GST native. Stock that matches the shelf, GST that checks itself, wages from attendance — one thread. Bring the Excel you already keep — judged before written.
