FAQ

Asked first, answered plainly

Is my data safe — and is it mine?

Yours, always. Every list exports to Excel or CSV, and your books export in a form your accountant can read. Each business lives in its own isolated database — and our own support staff cannot see inside your business. That is enforced by the architecture, not a policy.

We run everything on Tally. Do we have to leave it?

No. Bring balances and masters through the import wizard; your CA can keep filing from Tally as long as they like. Most factories run both for a quarter.

Everything is in Excel today. How long does starting take?

Usually an afternoon. Items, customers, suppliers, opening stock and old dues come in from the sheets you already keep — judged before written, refused row by row if something is wrong.

My people are not computer people.

The gate marks attendance with one tap each. Every screen explains itself — why it exists, when to open it, with a worked example — in English and Hindi. And workers never need a login to be on the payroll.

Does it work in Hindi?

हाँ — हर स्क्रीन, हर समझ। Written by hand, not machine-translated, on every plan.

What happens when the internet goes?

The screens you were already on keep showing, with the time we last had them written at the top — so the stock list and the register do not go blank. The gate keeps working too: attendance and machine breakdowns can still be entered, they wait on that phone, and they send themselves when the line returns, with nobody pressing anything. What will not work is a bill, a payment or a stock movement — those need a connection and say so, because a queued invoice is a lie waiting to be numbered. Running the whole factory with no connection at all is not on our roadmap, and we would rather tell you that here than in a sales call.

Is GST included in the prices?

Indian prices are shown before GST, which is what a business expects on a B2B price list — you claim it back anyway. 18% is added on the invoice.

What counts as a user?

Somebody who signs in. Workers marked on the attendance register are never counted — a factory of two hundred usually needs five logins.

Can I move between plans?

Both directions, usually the same day. Moving down turns screens off; it never deletes a document.

Who is behind SutraBook?

A small Indian team building one product. You will talk to the people who build it — the same address on every page.
